This demanding high-mountain hike takes you deep into the heart of the Andes, crossing landscapes of overwhelming beauty. The trail combines steep slopes, rocky stretches, and wide-open views of the majestic Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas.

Along the route, the sound of rushing water guides you to the Potrero Escondido Waterfall, a natural cascade that refreshes the air and anticipates the grandeur of the final destination.

It is common to spot Andean condors soaring over the valleys and other high-altitude wildlife, adding a unique touch to the experience.

The effort is rewarded upon reaching the Potrero Escondido Lagoon, an emerald-colored body of water hidden among cliffs and hanging glaciers, where silence and the immensity of the surroundings convey a sense of adventure and fulfillment that is hard to forget.
