Enjoy an easy to moderate hike in Aconcagua Park, surrounded by stunning landscapes: the vivid Horcones Lagoon, the glaciers on Aconcagua’s South Face, and unforgettable panoramic views from the viewpoint.

Located 186 km from Mendoza City via National Route 7 (approx. 2 h 50 min by car). Access is through the Alfredo Magnani Visitor Center in the Horcones Valley. Parking is available, and entry tickets must be purchased online in advance, as no on-site payment is possible.

Main Highlights

  • Horcones Lagoon: a mountain lake at 2,950 m.a.s.l., formed by glacial meltwater. Surrounded by a valley shaped by wind, water, and glaciers over thousands of years, it is home to Andean wildlife and aquatic vegetation.
  • Panoramic Viewpoint: a nearly 2 km trail (~1 h 30 min round trip), easy difficulty. Offers spectacular views of Aconcagua’s South Face and its hanging glaciers.
  • Suspension Bridge at Durazno Gorge: optional extension of about 6 km round trip, moderate difficulty due to the altitude (~3,000 m.a.s.l.), ideal for visitors with more time and proper acclimatization.
