From Plaza Independencia to San Martín Avenue, there is a pedestrian street that is an icon of Mendoza, beloved by both tourists and locals. Here, you can find numerous shops and well-known cafés. It’s an ideal place for a stroll, enjoying a drink, and appreciating the architecture.
There are just three pedestrian blocks between San Martín Avenue and Plaza Independencia. Inaugurated in 1989 after much debate, it has since become a significant success for the city.
This area features notable buildings, including the San Martín Passage, the "San Nicolás y Santiago Apóstol" Church, the Stock Exchange, and the Provincial Legislature.
Adjacent to San Martín Avenue is the famous Kilometer Zero of Mendoza, a traditional spot where people from Mendoza celebrate major events in Argentina.
